Workshop 04/17: The Art of Storytelling
Date: April 17th
Time: 1:30 PM (MST)
Location: GWC 487
Zoom: http://zoom.us/j/475614
This 90-minute workshop will teach students, faculty and staff the art of storytelling to communicate Science effectively. Communication of science to non-expert audiences with stories, anecdotes, and narratives is becoming even more important these days. Narratives are easier to comprehend and audiences find them more engaging than traditional logical-scientific communication. The workshop will be lead by Dr. Travis May a professor at South Mountain Community College for over 17 years and faculty member in the Storytelling Institute. His specific focus is on storytelling for workforce development to engage learners in cultural, and community awareness.
